[Forum] Gyeongui Line Commons Movement (2)

On April 18th, Saturday, the forum for Gyeongui Line Commons Movement <Re:born> will be held. Following last week’s forum, this second forum will also be livestreamed through the YouTube channel, ‘ColorTV’.  (https://www.youtube.com/user/jinbocolor)

This forum seeks to share the formation, activities and future alternatives of the Gyeongui Line Commons. In this second forum, session 1 will proceed with scholars Soojung Ahn and Jisun Kim, who has recently performed research on. Gyeongui Line Commons. In session 2, the authors of <Culture/Science>’s special issue on commons will have a round-table talk.

On Saturday, April 18th, the second event for Gyeongui Line Commons Movement <Re:born> took place at Gyeongui Line Commons. Rising scholars who have recently conducted research on the Gyeongui Line Commons, and authors of <Culture/Science>’s special issue on commons came together for presentations and a round-table talk. In this event, there were discussions of the implications of the Gyeongui Line Commons Movement to Korean society, and the conditions and directions of the movement in the future.

Especially, the discussions included alternative property possession and the right to exclusively possess space after the movement, the necessity for the architectural, legal and institutional basis for them, and movement strategies.
