On August 27, 13 graduate students and 3 professors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s School of History and Culture of Science visited SNUAC. As delegates from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, they had visited Korea in order to gain new implications on the fusion of the traditional and the contemporary from Korea’s development of creative cultural industry (Hallyu), and dropped by at SNUAC to learn of its current situation and core projects.

Professor Seok Kyeong Hong from Dept. of Communication gave a special lecture on Korean popular culture, “Making of K-Culture and Its Transnational Flow”, and continued on to hold a discussion on Hallyu and Korea’s cultural industry. As SNUAC is currently in the process of planning a research program that tracks the history and process of internal exchange and cooperation within the Asian region, it is anticipated that there would soon be an opportunity for close cooperation in research with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
