Tracing the 70 Years of Social Change in Korea includes periodic surveys of the changes in Korea’s civil society in the 70 years after the liberation. This book is the 21st publication of the SNUAC Asian Studies in a Global Context Series.
Tracing the 70 Years of Social Change in Korea compares the 2015 SNUAC study, “70th Anniversary of Independence and Social Survey of Korean Citizens’ Cognition” based on prior research on changes in the Korean citizen’s consciousness on the Korean society conducted by the SNU Institute for Social Development and Policy Research with related literature. This book interprets the macroscopic trends via scientific survey data collected in the past 30 years aiming to understand the fundamental reasons behind the crisis making in the polarization society since the liberation. The book hopes to support Korea’s finding a breakthrough in the current transition period of the Northeast Asian order.
