Abstract

In contrast to the 4th industrial revolution, A.I., and the digital future society, the importance of mountain passes as the analogue geographical route of communication is emphasized. The Conference for Culture and Ecosystem in Mountain Pass was first organized in 2011 and the need for in-depth conferences on mountain passes has been continuously brought up. Specifically, Korea’s Baekdudaegan mountains and the organization of their villages have suggested the need for research on the characteristics of mountain passes. The conference was organized to establish the basis for comparative research in Asia in order to discover the Asian value of mountain passes.
